Open Idea Explorer

Idea Explorer

Find new ideas between games, movies and music you already know. Pick familiar works, blend their ingredients, and generate concepts with artwork. Made by Bitfalls through Caimeo.

How it works

  1. Pick your inspirations. Search for a title or genre. Click a work, then Shift-click another to compare them. You can combine up to six works.
  2. Choose a direction. Confirm the suggested center, click anywhere on the map, or look for open space near the current target or view center. Add a direction if you want.
  3. Generate and see the result. Sign in to create up to three ideas with artwork. Each finished description is measured and placed on the map.

A concrete example

Imagine combining Portal 2’s puzzle rooms with Subnautica’s underwater exploration: a diving game where changing water pressure opens routes through a flooded research station. This is an illustrative concept, not a promise of what the generator will return.

The target is a request for a direction, not a mold. The model writes a description using nearby works and your instructions. We then turn that actual description into a list of numbers, compare it with the catalog, and plot it. A result can land away from your target because the written idea took a different direction.

The map flattens many dimensions into two. Two dots looking close does not guarantee similar meaning. Comparison distances use the full vectors; lower distance means closer descriptions. Distance does not prove originality, quality, or legal ownership.

Explore without generating

Browsing, title search, comparisons and finding targets do not call an LLM. Circle size can show Steam reviews or current players for games, worldwide box office for movies, and available listening popularity for music. Missing popularity data means unknown, not unpopular. The catalog is a collection of snapshots, not every work ever made.

Plans and artwork

A free account includes three generations per category once. Basic is €5 per month, plus applicable taxes at checkout, with 40 generation credits per billing period. One credit generates a batch of up to three ideas, including one artwork per idea. Free generations include artwork too. Credits do not roll over. Failed generations return the credit; busy periods can delay generation.

Sign in with Google or an emailed verification code. The person signing in completes that step. Buying Basic is a separate decision in Account, with payment handled by Lemon Squeezy.

For agents and developers

You can read this guide and use the existing public, read-only catalog endpoints without an account. Search returns at most 20 matches. Fetch the current manifest before searching or comparing, and reuse that snapshot. Cache repeated results instead of scraping the whole catalog.
